Prepare the product specification for equipment selection

Define a measured product specification and its test conditions. A fruit name does not provide a reliable recovery, viscosity or final-solids value.

Describe the sample and its condition

Record crop, variety, maturity, sample preparation and incoming temperature. State whether the sample is raw fruit, recovered juice, puree or concentrate. Keep raw intake and recovered feed specifications separate, including the date or seasonal conditions that make the sample representative.

Use measured properties with a method

For soluble solids or Brix, state the method, temperature and sample preparation. Record pH, particle size and fibre content where relevant. Viscosity requires its measurement temperature and method because the same product can behave differently under heat or shear. Mark unmeasured fields for review; do not substitute a generic fruit-average value.

Define the acceptance characteristics

Specify the desired juice clarity or pulp texture, limits for seed and peel fragments, concentration where relevant, and package net contents. Connect product treatment and storage to a qualified validation basis. Website tools do not assign a shelf life or a universally safe thermal schedule.

Bring the specification into the engineering brief

Supply running feed, productive hours, campaign duration, observed recovery and the expected variations. Use the season and recovery balance to distinguish raw intake from intermediate output. Use the concentration balance only when the feed and final concentration values share a valid mass-fraction basis.
