Plan commissioning around the conditions required to demonstrate the agreed process, not just the arrival of machines.
Before equipment reaches the site
Review foundations, access routes, lifting arrangements, drainage, electrical supply and utility tie-ins against approved drawings. Confirm which contractor completes each item and how readiness is checked. Identify any long-lead local approvals or specialist services. Keep unverified site assumptions visible in the installation schedule.
From installation checks to product trials
Mechanical, electrical and control checks precede process acceptance. Record instrument and interface verification, cleaning readiness and the agreed trial material. Define how start-up, normal operation, stopping and changeover will be demonstrated. Safety and food-process validation require the responsible qualified parties; a generic web checklist is not their approval.
Train for the actual scope
Agree the trainees, languages, documentation, operating boundaries, cleaning tasks, maintenance access and troubleshooting escalation. Training should use the installed configuration and agreed procedures. Record what has been demonstrated and any remaining tasks; do not substitute attendance for proven operator competence.
Close acceptance with conditions attached
State the raw material, product, measurement location, time window, utilities and quality criteria used in each acceptance test. Separate machine output from accepted packaged output. Retain deviations, corrective actions, retest evidence and handover documents. Warranty, support response and commercial remedies belong in the contract rather than invented website promises.
