Define the whole-plant responsibility before freezing the equipment list
A fruit processing plant connects process equipment with a building, utilities, people and an acceptance method. Make those interfaces explicit.
Start with a design basis
Record the raw material supply calendar, incoming condition and expected variability. Define the finished product, package, storage conditions and proposed market requirements. Set distinct capacity bases for raw intake, intermediate process streams and packed product. List the available data and unresolved assumptions before preparing a line concept.
Draw the scope boundary
Name the equipment supplier, site owner and other contractors responsible for each product, utility, electrical, controls, building and logistics interface. State the exact tie-in point, supplied condition, required information and verification owner. Process-island supply, an integrated line and whole-plant coordination need different responsibility matrices.
Coordinate layout and services
Review building dimensions, height, structure, access, drainage, maintenance removal space and hygienic zoning. Balance utilities over operating, cleaning, start-up and concurrent loads. Separate personnel, raw produce, packaging, waste and finished-product movements where the actual process requires it. A concept drawing remains subject to detailed engineering and applicable local review.
Make acceptance observable
Agree document deliverables, factory tests, site installation checks, operator training and production acceptance criteria. Product, capacity, utility and quality conditions must be attached to each criterion. Close deviations through a recorded action and retest process; a shipment or mechanically complete line is not proof of sustained production acceptance.
